Cfb — oceanic temperate
Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur combines rice-growing Camargue, AOC Crau (Crau hay), market-garden Comtat Venaissin, Var wine hills and Alpine mountains. Pronounced Mediterranean climate (19.8°C summer, 251 frost-free days) with characteristic alkaline clay-loam soils (pH 7.8). Agriculture is intensive but depends almost exclusively on irrigation for summer crops. Laboulet offers PACA oleic sunflowers suited to strong Mediterranean radiation, mid-early to early maize hybrids for Camargue and the Comtat plain, and supports growers on niche sectors (autumn pea, experimental castor).
