Cfb — oceanic temperate
Occitanie, with both Atlantic and Mediterranean facades, is one of Europe's most diversified agricultural terroirs: clay-limestone terreforts and boulbenes of Gers and Lot-et-Garonne, cereal Lauragais, limestone Causses, Mediterranean plains of Languedoc-Roussillon, rice-growing Camargue, pastoral Pyrenees. With 1,569 GDD, 307 frost-free days and a moderate water deficit (-106 mm), it holds France's largest sunflower area (Gers, Tarn-et-Garonne) and grows vines, fruits, durum wheat, irrigated maize. Laboulet deploys here its core oleic and linoleic sunflower range, mid-early to mid-late maize hybrids for Lauragais and the Tarn plain, and promising castor trials to valorise difficult lands.
