Cfb — oceanic temperate
Pays de la Loire combines Vendée and Mayenne bocage, Loire valley (market-garden and vineyard alluvium), Anjou and Sarthe plains. A beef and dairy livestock land (France's largest herd), the region extensively grows silage maize and winter cereals and progresses on sunflower in Vendée and Maine-et-Loire. With 1,218 GDD, 303 frost-free days and loamy soils at pH 6.1, conditions are globally favourable despite a notable water deficit (-251 mm). Laboulet offers Pays de la Loire ultra-early to early maize hybrids for silage, early sunflowers for rainfed cropping, and oilseed linseed in rotation with winter cereals.
