Cfb — oceanic temperate
Agricultural Brittany is a livestock-intensive land unique in France: dairy cattle, pigs and poultry concentrate production on a mosaic of small bocage plots. Soils on schist and granite are naturally acidic (pH 5.5) and require regular liming. The humid oceanic climate (17.4°C summer, 305 frost-free days, generous rainfall) favours silage maize, ryegrass, wheat and rapeseed. Laboulet offers Brittany ultra-early maize hybrids calibrated for livestock operations (FAO 100–170), oilseed linseed to diversify short rotations, and a few ultra-early sunflower varieties for farms seeking higher-value crops.
